The project involved creating illustrative labels for various types of traditional Polish soups, taking into account the diversity of their flavours and ingredients. The graphic design is inspired by a retro aesthetic, 19th-century typography and illustrations from old botanical atlases. The choice of this aesthetic ties in with the very idea behind the project: the lack of interesting, graphic branding for this type of product on the market and a desire to return to the flavours of home-cooked meals made me feel the need to create this kind of graphic design. The project was created as part of a label design course at Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology.
